The Honeysuckle Pub and Restaurant, a haven for fun times

Just like the plant honeysuckle which is the powerhouse of various nutrients, The Honeysuckle Pub and Restaurant is the powerhouse of good times.

Located in Osu with a new branch near the A&C Shopping Mall, East Legon, The Honeysuckle Pub & Restaurant which opened over 10 years ago, has firmly established itself as one of the fun places to relax in the capital.

Based on the theme of British pubs, Honeysuckle draws a diverse clientele of expats and a lively local crowd, who come there to enjoy the pool tables, the wide range of drinks and food while watching multiple sporting events on big screen TVs broadcasting in HD at all times of the day.

Chronicling the origin of Honeysuckle, the General Manager, Asheer Khubchanbani said the pub and restaurant came about out of the need to provide revellers in Accra with a place to eat a sit-down meal or wind down after work while taking in a live game or two. Asheer describes the ambiance of Honeysuckle which has a workforce of about 60 as I

“You get a lot of people from different backgrounds, friends who come in groups to watch their football, drink their beer, eat their chicken wings and steaks among others.

“ That is not all, our extensive menu of varied dishes means that we also cater for families, kids, the elderly who want to enjoy a time out. And for those who cannot make it to Honeysuckle but want to have a feel of our culinary skills, we offer delivery services”, he said.

Although Honeysuckle might not be spacious, the best has been made of the size with designated smoking and non-smoking areas for clientele as well as a rooftop section to accommodate the needs of those who might want to hangout while taking in the skyline sights of the city.

Incredible and definitely the place to be during games especially during matches involving The Black Stars of Ghana.

He said Happy Hours at Honeysuckle are from 4pm to 7pm from Monday to Thursday and with half price on drinks, this has proved very popular with many young patrons.

“We have the young people coming in to grab a bite, drink and enjoy tunes from the in-house DJ,” Asheer said.

Talking about the how Honeysuckle fits into the night life scene in Accra, Asheer described the pub as the “starting place” for many club and party lovers. “Many people come to The Honeysuckle to get themselves in the groove before they kick off their club hopping,” he said.

“ The Honeysuckle is the place to be,” Asheer said, “Everyone who comes here feels at home, get to meet people from different backgrounds and have a good time. At the end of the day, everyone leaves here satisfied and we are happy too”, he added.
