How to make hand sanitizer:

  • ⅔ cup of rubbing alcohol
  • 5 -10 drops of essential oil (optional)
  • ⅓ cup of aloe vera

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before making the hand sanitizer.
  • Make the hand sanitizer in a clean space.
  • Wipe down countertops with a diluted bleach solution beforehand.
  • To mix, use a clean spoon and whisk. Wash these items thoroughly before using them.
  • Be certain the alcohol used for the hand sanitizer is not diluted.
  • Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until they are well blended.
  • Do not touch the mixture with your hands until it’s ready for use.

  • Citric acid
  • Glycerin
  • An empty bowl with a lid.
  • Water heater for warming up water
  • Stirring rod/stick to stir

Homemade Sanitizer Method:

Heat the water to about 40 degrees Celsius (40°C), after heating up the water, pour it in an empty bowl. Add about a tablespoon of the thickener powder, and stir for at least 3minutes. Cover your bowl and leave the mixture for about 3 minutes. After 3 minutes, open your bowl and stir again with your stirring rod. Stir until you mixture becomes a gel.

After getting the thickness you want, add your rubbing alcohol, citric acid and stir. Add your glycerin and mix. Next, whisk or mix all ingredients together and pour into an empty container. Be certain to label your hand sanitizer with an adhesive strip.
