Some oil marketing companies have already adjusted their prices, with Shell increasing the price of petrol from GHȼ14.80 to GHȼ15.10 per liter and diesel from GH¢14.92 to GHȼ15.25 per liter.

The Transport Operators Association of Ghana has announced a 15% increase in transport fares effective Monday, July 22, 2024.

The decision comes as a result of the recent surge in petroleum prices and spare parts costs, coupled with the current economic hardship.

According to the association, the increase is necessary to help transport operators cope with the rising costs of fuel and spare parts.

“This has become necessary due to the recent surge in petroleum and spare parts prices coupled with economic hardship,” an excerpt of the statement said.

Some oil marketing companies have already adjusted their prices, with Shell increasing the price of petrol from GHȼ14.80 to GHȼ15.10 per liter and diesel from GH¢14.92 to GHȼ15.25 per liter.

The transport operators are urging the public to take note of the increment and cooperate with them.

COMMERCIAL TRANSPORT OPERATORS.

TRANSPORT FARES INCREMENT .

The Transport Operators Association Of Ghana wishes to announce to the general public there will a 15% increment of transport fares coming monday 22/07/2024.

This has become necessary due to the recent surge in petroleum and spare parts prices coupled with economic hardship.

Some oil marketing companies (OMCs) have begun upwardly adjusting their prices at the pumps following the commencement of July’s second pricing window.

One of the leading oil marketing companies, Shell for instance, which previously sold a litre of petrol at GHȼ14.80 is now selling at GHȼ15.10 while a litre of diesel previously selling at GH¢14.92 is now selling at GHȼ15.25.

Also, the prevailing economic difficulties and other factors are worsening the living condition of transport owners and drivers.

We are therefore urging all Ghanaians to take note of the increment and cooperate with transport operators.
