Victor Osimhen has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal in favor of pursuing his long-standing ambition: a move to the English Premier League. According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United has emerged as a leading contender to secure the Nigerian striker’s signature.
The 26-year-old, who spent the past season on loan at Galatasaray and played a decisive role in their Turkish Super Lig title run, was on the verge of joining the Saudi Pro League in a deal that would have significantly increased his earnings. However, talks with Al-Hilal have broken down, redirecting Osimhen’s focus back to Europe.
Manchester United, in need of reinforcements after a lackluster campaign that saw them finish 15th in the Premier League, are said to be accelerating negotiations. The club views Osimhen as a central figure in its offensive rebuild under manager Ruben Amorim.
A major sticking point in any potential deal remains Napoli’s firm stance on the player’s £63.4 million ($81 million) release clause. With financial constraints limiting United’s spending flexibility, the club is reportedly exploring creative solutions—chief among them, a player-plus-cash offer.
One name floated as part of that potential package is Joshua Zirkzee, a forward whom United believe could appeal to Napoli as part of a broader deal structure. Club sources suggest ongoing internal discussions about how to meet Napoli’s demands while staying within financial fair play boundaries.
With the summer transfer window officially open, Osimhen has once again become a marquee name on the market—and a top priority for a Manchester United side seeking to reignite its fortunes.
