According to ‘The Sun’ and per what SKB JOURNAL – SPORTS has gathered, Saudi club Al Nassr are reportedly considering signing David de Gea as a free agent in the summer. They are keen to reunite the Spanish goalkeeper with Cristiano Ronaldo.
David de Gea is now a free agent after failing to renew his contract with Manchester United after 12 years at Old Trafford. As a result, the Spaniard will have to look for a new destination in the summer.
Both parties tried to renew him but there were disagreements in the negotiations. The English side have long been wanting him to take a pay-cut on his £375,000-a-week deal that was signed in 2019. And although the 32-year-old accepted the deal, the board wanted to reduce his salary even further.
Several clubs are interested in his services and even more so now that he has become a free agent. According to ‘The Sun’, Al Nassr are the main contenders to sign the goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
De Gea has made just shy of 550 appearances in his 12 seasons with the Red Devils but now he will have to start a new adventure. The Saudi club are keen to reunite the Spaniard with Cristiano Ronaldo as they played together at Manchester United.
The same media outlet reports that Al Nassr could offer him a £250,000-a-week contract to play in Saudi Arabia next campaign.
