Erling Haaland, who was not expected to play in the Premier League match against Brentford due to the death of a relative, scored a brace at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
On Saturday, Yoane Wissa scored the fastest goal in the 2024/25 Premier League against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium as the 28-year-old took 22 seconds to give Brentford the lead. However, his opener was brutally overshadowed by a double from one of his opponents.
Erling Haaland restarted the match in the 19th minute from inside the box after a pass from his loyal provider Kevin De Bruyne. The Norwegian dedicated the equaliser to a relative who died a few days ago.
But that was not enough for the 24-year-old. Haaland netted again in the 32nd minute after receiving a long pass from goalkeeper Ederson, leaving him one goal away from a third consecutive hat-trick.
