Leipzig did not get off to the best possible start in their bid for revenge against Manchester City. The Sky Blues took the lead in the 25th minute thanks to a goal by Phil Foden
Leipzig’s attempt at revenge against Manchester City seems to have suffered an unexpected blow. It didn’t take the Sky Blues long to break the deadlock.
Although the German side were managing to keep the Mancunians at bay, Phil Foden finally put the English side ahead at the Red Bull Arena.
Bernardo Silva found Ricco Lewis inside the box though a lovely ball and the English right-back made the most from it. Lewis squared the ball to the penalty spot where an unmarked Foden blasted home.
In doing so, Manchester City would pick up three crucial points against one of the toughest opponents in their group, who suffered a 7-0 defeat to Pep Guardiola’s side last season.
