Mbappe and other football stars bid farewell to Hazard

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe and other football stars bid farewell to Eden Hazard, who has retired from professional football, on social media and wished the former Belgian striker all the best.

Belgian Eden Hazard announced his retirement on Tuesday after failing to find another club following his release by Real Madrid. The 32-year-old endured an injury-plagued spell at Madrid after his 89-million-pound move from Chelsea in 2019, playing just 76 matches in all competitions across four seasons.

You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time,” Hazard wrote on Instagram. “After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer.”

As a result, several football stars, including Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, said goodbye to Hazard on social media and wished him all the best for his future. “The great Eden, thank you,” the French striker wrote on Instagram.

Fulham striker Willian also wanted to send a message to the former Chelsea player as former teammates: “What a player and what a guy! It was a huge pleasure to play with you my brother, for sure you was one of the best players I played with. May God continue blessing your life,” he said.

Spanish midfielder Juan Mata, who also shared a dressing room with Hazard during his time with the Blues, also bid farewell to the striker with a message on Instagram. “Enjoy your new chapter my friend, you deserve it, thanks for bringing your joy to football.”
