Samuel Kwame Boadu hails Abigail Tawiah Mensah after Faith Ladies FC defeat

Abigail Tawiah Mensah

Berry Ladies Fc’s 2-0 defeat at Madina Astroturf ended Abigail Tawiah Mensah’s run of Malta Guinness Women Premier League clean sheets after shutting out Soccer Intellectual Fc and Lady Strikers FC.

However, Samuel Kwame Boadu who is the Digital Marketing Head at Berry Ladies FC was still full of praise for Abigail Tawiah Mensah (ATM) and was more critical of Berry Ladies Fc’s forward on, saying they have been riding their luck in recent weeks without getting punished.

Samuel Kwame Boadu wrote on  SKB Journal that Abigail Tawiah Mensah has been outstanding this season, but also fired a warning to the team’s forward.

He said: “Berry Ladies FC have been getting away with it and have been caught. One of Berries’s best players has been Abigail Tawiah. She’s bailing them out.”

Abigail Tawiah Mensah is in good form, but there’s room for improvement.

Abigail Tawiah Mesah has made more than 30 appearances in all competitions since last two seasons, conceding less goals with more than 10 clean sheets.

Against Hasaccas Ladies FC, Abigail saved a one-on-one with Doris Boaduwaa and stopped a close-range header from two forwards, so she’s at her best right now.

Abigails Tawiah Mensah’s overall save percentage from shots on target faced (66%), so there is room for improvement.

Samuel is right to warn Berry Ladies of their porous forwards, as they’ve lost more chances per game than eight other league clubs (12.6). Berry Ladies FC have also kept only two clean sheets in the league since the start of the 2022/2023 season.

The Faith Ladies FC thrashing should be a wake-up call, as Berries opened up far too easily at Madina Astroturf. Coach Mercy Tagoe’s side next face Army Ladies FC on Saturday before visiting Essiam Socrates Ladies FC.
