Serge Gnabry will be out for “several weeks” after fracturing his left forearm in Tuesday night’s German Cup match against Preussen Münster (German third division), Bayern Munich have announced.
“Serge will undergo surgery on Wednesday and will be out for several weeks”, said coach Thomas Tuchel in a statement released by the club. The player had undergone an X-ray during the match.
The German international had to leave the pitch in the 11th minute of the match after a collision with the opposing goalkeeper, Johannes Schenk.
Bayern Munich’s top scorer last season, Serge Gnabry will miss the trip to Leipzig (Saturday), as well as Matchday 2 of the Champions League against Copenhagen (Tuesday).
