Four notable figures from Ghana’s creative industry are making their way to Parliament following their victories in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
Actor John Dumelo, actress Ebi Bright, entertainment executive Baba Sadiq, and musician Kwame A Plus will represent their respective constituencies as Members of Parliament in 2025.
John Dumelo secured a win in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency after a tightly contested race against the NPP’s Lydia Alhassan. Baba Sadiq, known for his contributions to Ghana’s entertainment scene, emerged victorious in the Okaikwei Central constituency, defeating NPP’s Patrick Boamah in another competitive election.
Kwame A Plus, running as an independent candidate, earned the trust of voters in the Gomoa Central constituency, successfully clinching the seat. Actress Ebi Bright also triumphed in the Tema Central constituency. Her victory came after a delayed announcement by the Electoral Commission, which had to relocate the collation process for security reasons.
The Electoral Commission yesterday declared the NDC’s flagbearer, John Mahama, as the winner of the December 7th elections.
