Menezes appointed Corinthians manager for third time

Mano Menezes has been hired as coach of Brazilian club Corinthians for the third time, replacing sacked Vanderlei Luxemburgo.

Menezes signed a contract until “the end of 2025”, the club said, and will make his debut on Saturday during the league derby against Sao Paulo.

Corinthians’ 1-1 home draw against Fortaleza in the Copa Sudamericana semi-final, first leg on Tuesday sealed Luxembourgo’s fate.

Menezes, 61, was sacked by Internacional Porto Alegre in July. Seven-time Brazilian champions Corinthians won their last league title in 2017.

The club are 11th in the league with 30 points, but just five points above the relegation zone with 14 matches remaining.
