Sancho joins Borussia Dortmund on loan and terms to know

Manchester United’s rumours of Jadon Sancho’s departure came to an end when the club confirmed in a statement on Thursday that the winger will join his former club Borussia Dortmund.

After all the rumours of a possible exit, Jadon Sancho, who has been sidelined by Manchester United for his controversial dispute with Red Devils coach Erik ten Hag, has left the club to join his former club Borussia Dortmund.

The Old Trafford club released a statement on their official website confirming the move and wishing the winger good luck at his former Bundesliga club.

“Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has rejoined former club Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season. The 23-year-old spent four seasons with the Bundesliga team from 2017, registering 50 goals and 64 assists, before completing a transfer to Old Trafford in the summer of 2021, read the statement.

The player has made 82 official appearances for Manchester Unitedscoring 12 goals in all competitions and helping the team win the Carabao Cup in 2023.

Sancho will wear the number ’10’ on his return to his former team where he dazzled all the big clubs and where he made the Red Devils take notice of him by paying a very high transfer fee for the English winger (£73 million).

Hello BVB fans, it’s Jadon here! I just wanna say Happy New Year and I’m so glad to be back and I can’t wait to get started, see you soon and take care,” were Sancho’s first words on his return to BVB.

“When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like ‘coming home’. I know the club inside out, I’ve always been very close with the fans here, and I there was no break in contact with those in charge. I can’t wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, assist goals, score goals and help achieve Champions League qualification,” added the former Man Utd player.

Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has also commented on the return of his former star and welcomed him back. “Jadon is an absolute difference maker and I’m looking forward to seeing him back in black and yellow soon.”

“He knows this city, the stadium, our fans and our club. Even though he hasn’t played any competitive games in the past few months, we are sure that he will quickly settle back in with us, get into top form and use his qualities to help us achieve our goals for the season,” claimed Kehl.
