Werner joins Spurs on loan and transfer terms to know
Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Timo Werner from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig on loan until the end of the season.
.

After rumours this week that the German striker was set to return to the Premier League, it has finally come to be confirmed. Timo Werner will return to the Premier League and join Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season, the London club have confirmed on their official website.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig, subject to international clearance. The Germany international will join the Club on loan until the end of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent in the summer. He will wear the number 16 shirt,” read the Spurs’ statement.

The former RB Leipzig player signed for Chelsea in 2020 where he made 89 official appearances for the club, scoring 23 goals and helping them win Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup, and a FIFA Club World Cup in his time with the Blues.

The striker joins a Spurs side in need of an attacker as they have been hit by injuries and the absence of captain Son Heung-Min, who has left for South Korea to play in the Asian Cup.

Werner was delighted in his first words as a Tottenham player, proclaiming that he has come to the club to win titles and confirming that a chat with manager Postecoglou was one of the factors in his decision to join the club.

“The talk with the manager. I thought it was a really good talk. He gave me straight away the feeling that I need to join a clubwhat I want to feel when you talk to a manager and also the tactics and the stylehow he wants to play, how he lets the team play. For me I thought straight away that it fits perfectlyThen the stadium, to play there every game is something special and also the team, I think we have some very good players. All of it was very interesting to me,” claimed Timo Werner.

Werner could make his debut when Tottenham visit Manchester United on Sunday. Spurs sit fifth in the Premier League, just one point outside the top four and six points off leaders Liverpool.
